Meet Brennalynn

I believe therapy works best when it feels human, thoughtful, and collaborative. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by creativity, curiosity, and a deep respect for the complexity of people’s lives. Below is a bit more about who I am, how I came to this work, and why I created Tended Mind Therapy.

My Story

I’m Brennalynn, the therapist behind Tended Mind Therapy. I’m a pre-licensed social work clinician (SWC) based in Louisville, Colorado, offering adult therapy both in person and online throughout the state. I earned my Master of Social Work in 2022 from Metropolitan State University of Denver, after completing a B.S. in Music from University of Colorado, Denver—an experience that continues to shape how I listen, attune, and approach the work I do today.

Before starting my private practice, I worked in group practices that accepted insurance, where I gained valuable clinical experience supporting adults through anxiety, relational challenges, life transitions, and trauma. Over time, I found myself wanting to practice in a way that felt more human, relational, and aligned with my values—without being constrained by insurance limitations or business models that didn’t prioritize client care. Tended Mind Therapy grew from that desire: to create a space where therapy can be thoughtful, intentional, and centered on genuine connection.

My approach is attachment-based and trauma-informed, with a focus on understanding how early experiences shape present-day patterns. I believe healing happens when there is room to slow down, get curious, and tend to the parts of ourselves that have learned to carry too much on their own. Therapy with me is collaborative, welcoming, and explorative—less about fixing and more about understanding, integration, and growth.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m someone who loves creative projects, learning new songs on the guitar, and redesigning spaces (I’m always reading about feng shui). You’ll also find me playing Minecraft with my son or diving into whatever I’m currently curious about. These parts of my life matter to me—and they inform how I show up as a therapist: grounded, creative, and deeply interested in how people and environments shape one another.
